Micah Subar’s music carries a quiet intensity and a sense of nostalgia. Inspired by the folk roots of Laurel Canyon in the 60s and 70s, his songwriting feels both classic and firmly rooted in today’s Americana landscape. His clear, honest voice and thoughtfully layered guitar work create songs that feel personal yet universally relatable.

Micah’s music is deeply shaped by a life that feels both painfully familiar and often misunderstood. Raised in an Orthodox Jewish family, he grappled with the weight of tradition and the feeling of being an outsider within the rigid boundaries of his upbringing. He sought freedom in his personal life and, in doing so, dedicated himself to writing about it. These songs ultimately are filled with the tension of wanting to belong while needing to break free.

His journey—from Washington, DC to Seattle, where he spent years as a fixture in the local music scene—has shaped him into a sought-after session musician and a dedicated songwriter.

Micah is currently writing and performing in Nashville, Tennessee.
